Visual Art – Phoenix

I currently make a living as a professional artist and educator in southeastern Arizona. During my childhood I was a self-taught artist, and was always creating creatures and worlds for them to inhabit. Comic books and animated films inspired me to draw during my adolescent years and I won a few school competitions which bolstered my confidence and kept me drawing. People were always asking me to draw things for them and I loved the attention so I often obliged. In more recent years, I earned my degree in fine arts and recently completed an intensive Mastery of Fine Arts program through Milan Art institute. I think it is important to pursue your dreams, regardless of how busy life becomes and my recent endeavors have reinforced that mindset. Creating a body of work with limited subject matter holds little interest for me so I am constantly playing around with new ideas. My current body of work is split between fine art paintings which are inspired by mythology, nature, beauty, and strength, and illustrations which stem from dreams, stories I have written, and nostalgic themes from my childhood. Switching between styles and themes requires me to adapt new techniques and materials on a consistent basis, which is one qualities that distinguishes my work. Sharing these stories and worlds has been a dream of mine for a long time and now it is finally a reality.
