Charleen Brinson

Visual Art – Nashville

Follow me on Instagram! @toxxiclady.... Charleen Brinson was born in Kentucky in 1987. Raised in a small town, she quickly found that the folksy, southern nature of her surroundings were not her cup of tea, so she submerged herself in the realms of fantasy through reading novels by a lot of men with abbreviated names, such as J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft and H.G. Wells. Through literature and a very vivid imagination, she creates dark and wonderful fantasy works that borderline on the macabre. After university, she moved to her current home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where she continues work and play. I believe that art is what defines us historically and as humans. Art has always been an escape for emotions you can\'t contain, a documentation of your unique story and a way to capture the visions you can\'t express through words alone. My objective is to explore the darker realms of the human existence and capture the fantasy worlds that live within us. My work has been displayed mostly in a local gallery that promotes alternative artwork and styles that are not showcased as prominently in our area. My artistic goal is to one day be featured in Spectrum Fantastic Art, which is an annual book release which publishes the best of the best in the comic book, sci-fi and fantasy genre.
