Laura Valentine Choreography

Performing Art – Nashville

Laura Valentine is a choreographer and dance instructor as well as co-founder of Phoenix Collective, a collaboration of artists that aid in the effort to end sex slavery and child pornography. Her most recent full length production was created to benefit Phoenix Collective and is entitled The Veneer. Laura\'s choreography is technique driven, athletic and collaborative and illustrates real experiences and relationships. At it\'s core, her work is contemporary, with influence from jazz, acrobatics, ballet and various other styles she has studied. Laura has been honored to perform works by the very influential Mia Michaels and Tonya Hughes. Both of these artists have inspired her in different ways to get personal with every inch of her own work. The pursuit of her art is the welding of heart, kindling of spirit, passion, ambition and drive for excellence in dance technique. Her work requires great emotional strength, trust, skill and vulnerability from its dancers; and they never cease to amaze her. ***Profile photos: Darren Sheely, Matthew Ray, and Steve Clarke.
