“What we got instead was an otherworldly singer-songwriter, who sounded like some kind of fairy siren, whose voice was so delicately unique that it was damn-near it’s own language. I don’t think I made out one lyric the entire time, but I also don’t think I said one word during the performance. Even the featherlight, trancelike fingernail strumming of unconventional chords was like being tickled to sleep in a way I’ve never felt”.
