Jodie is a portrait and fine art photographer and a social activist. She created Velodie Photography in 2013 upon realising she could combine her skills as a photographer, makeup artist and stylist to offer a truly empowering and personalised experience for her clients to embrace and accept all that they are. Her fine art endeavours seek to spark conversation and bring awareness to issues such as body acceptance, sexual violence and domestic violence, victim shaming and depression.
The name Velodie [pronounced Vell-o-Dee] is an amalgam of the women in Jodie's maternal line. Valerie, her grandmother; Ellen, her great grandmother; Lynne, her mother; and Jodie herself. It is a name to celebrate feminine strength and beauty.
