Music – Philadelphia
Phase One: Venice Sunlight started in 2006 largely as a result of Dave (guitar), Alex (drums), Jeff (bass), Scott (guitar) and Jay (vocals) being really restless. We wrote a whole bunch of songs, and released a handful of them in the form of two demos in 2008 and 2009. Jeff left, and Steve came in; then Scott left, so Jay had to take over guitar.
Phase Two: Jay learned how to play guitar. We hunkered down and re-tooled our sound accordingly, recording and releasing \"Vs. the Rabid Rabbits,\" our debut EP, in 2010. Some really cool attention from fans and press followed, and we spent most of 2011 writing, promoting and playing a bunch of shows, including a tour of the northeast US in the spring. \"The Green Room\" was also spun on the 2nd episode of \"The Real World: St. Thomas,\" which was pretty mind-blowing.
Phase Three: Towards the end of 2011 we did some recording; out of those sessions comes our newest release \"Vs. the Sophomore Slump,\" two whalloping tracks guaranteed to get feet dancing and heads bobbing. Pour yourself a glass of your favorite whiskey and enjoy.
