Hello RAW! I'm so honored to be the RAW Director of ECO. My name is Janine Johnson and I am the founder of Green Wave, a 501(c)(3) grassroots environmental non-profit and a Green Girl Guru for TheGreenGirls.com. I am passionate about the environment because I see it as an extension of ourselves. We have trivialized the natural world through ostentatious and outdated theories of human superiority creating a rivalry with Nature, sometimes I feel for our amusement alone. Silly... the Earth sustains us, so I'm here to help show not just that we can, but how to play nice. I have been deeply inspired by yoga, music, and dance. I love reading, writing, taking photos, and hoop dancing.

I started Green Wave only 3 years ago but I was deeply moved to do so. I had wanted to run away from the world and simply live near the beach, teach yoga and movement studies, and write. I got pulled back into the world when I met someone that wanted me to help them sell a large parcel of land in Costa Rica. For the first time I realized that progress was seemingly unstoppable. I could literally see on my first trip to Costa Rica, rainforest being plowed down. And it was from that perspective that I snapped and realized I had a larger calling to do whatever it was that I could to mitigate development and encourage sustainability and harmony. Since then, I have thrown a few green events that have served to educate my party goers about sustainable partying as well as to raise money for green education and sustainable developments.

It's my intention to keep the RAW community up to date on what's happening with all things ECO and and seek out the best of what's going on in ECO art, music, events and initiatives.
