The integration of all artistic disciplines!Favorite Thing in the Whole Wide World:
Creating ArtBorn in Wisconsin and raised in Arizona, as a youngster Anson Sky mimicked the pop icons of his childhood. He began his training in gymnastics and eventually gravitated towards dance in high school where he learned jazz, hip-hop, and modern. During these years, Anson choreographed and performed in several productions and talent shows. He continued his training at Arizona State University graduating with a B.F.A. in dance choreography - performing frequently in department concerts and night clubs.
In 2006, Anson migrated to Los Angeles where he immersed himself in the dance and nightlife scene while training at Millennium, the Edge, and Debbie Reynolds dance studios. Anson also performed in Posers, a dance group that recreated iconic performances of pop music stars in Hollywood clubs. Branching out, he crafted his own brand of performance art heavily focused on dance and fashion.
Anson Sky is the product of parents with Fine Arts degrees who are skilled in stained glass, painting, drawing, and ceramics. This background and his diverse dance training shape Anson’s choreography into a performance that is dedicated to visual artistry, rhythmic integrity, and dynamic athleticism. As a visual artist, he designs and creates the fashion and sets for his work.
With his obsession for all forms of artistic expression, Anson Sky recorded and co-wrote a three song EP. The set is composed of dance driven pop tunes produced to further his creative vision and provide the world with a healthy dose of escapism. The first single “Out There” was released in the summer of 2010. Anson also appeared as a contestant on the first episode of CMT's new show, "Your Chance to Dance."
