puppiesIra Heinichen (pronounced like the beer) was a native of Northern California when his mixed compilation “Footsteps” caught the ear of Daniel Webb, contributor to the now defunct So-Cal magazine Lotus, who hailed it as captivating and flawlessly executed. The move to Los Angeles brought residencies at the prestigious Ziing’s and Plush Lounge in Orange County and appearances at the legendary Circus and Avalon in Hollywood.
Heinichen became a fixture on the global broadcast titan Frisky Radio, the #1 shoutcast-rated
Progressive Dance Internet Station in the world, in 2005 with his show “Elemental Underground” which airs monthly to this date. In 2007 he came on as Label Manager and head of A&R for their label friskyRecords which has charted Top 10 tracks from some of the world’s leading Electronic talent. Under the label Heinichen has released several productions which have received support from A-list DJ’s such as Hybrid, Hernan Cattaneo and Armin van Buuren. Heinichen also heads the annual end-of-the-year mixed compilation for friskyRecords which is currently set to release “Year002.”
Ira additionally serves posts as a Resident DJ on both major North American DJ pools, MPP and Release, and will head the forthcoming blogsite and weekly radio show “Fresh Produce.”
