Rey says "Art" I say "Music", I guess they go hand in hand.After three years of experimenting in designing men’s jackets and t-shirts for L.A. base rock musicians. In January 2008 Rey Aquino Designs became a business. Joining forces with business partner Justin Sena. Rey Aquino Designs, or R.A.D., is the brainchild of Rey Aquino, a prominent new men’s fashion designer from Long Beach, CA. With the release of Rey Aquino Designs current line, “Rude Boys and English Gents”, the influence of 80’s punk music infused with the tailored gentleman, is ever present. Having a passion for music, art, and fashion alike, Rey Aquino Designs has created men’s coats and jackets that are unlike any other in its market.
Mr. Aquino raises a challenge for all men in their personal style choices. He challenges men to create their own sense of individuality and style with their clothing while still feeling “in vogue” and masculine. Sleek lines, tailored fit, and edgy detailing make the jackets and coats of this debut line one that is sure to take men’s fashion to new heights. Aquino believes, "It's no longer taboo for a man to experiment and flaunt his physical beauty through fashion”, and his clothing gives men this experimental opportunity.
Rey Aquino Design’s clothing is starting to catch the eye of many. Currently being worn by Mark Schulman, drummer for multi-platinum artist “Pink” and by Justin Derrico, guitar player for “Pink”, the mad raves about the clothing keep pouring in. Mark Schulman says of the clothing, “ 'Rey's designs are monumental. I have never gotten more compliments and given away more business cards relative to any jacket
in my life!” Derrico also states “R.A.D. Rocks!”. R.A.D. fashion might be new to the scene, but that does not mean it is going unrecognized. R.A.D fashion has not only been seen on the international stage with “Pink”, but also already featured Ellen, Connan Obrien, The Good Morning America Show, MTV’s Video Music Awards. Young Hollywood celebrities is catching on and had been styled in Rey Aquino Designs garments. Celebs like upcoming young actor Jacob White, Adam Lambert of American Idol fame, and Shaun White (champion snow and skateboarder) for upcoming Playboy magazine interview article.
The future is looking bright for R.A.D. along with many opportunities, it’s growth, and challenges that comes along the way.
