Water Landing

Music – Las Vegas

It was the year 2013. Longtime musical pals and co-pilots Eric Phillips and Ron Hudy had begun working on a top secret project that would propel the Las Vegas music scene to brave new heights. They recruited flight attendant Jules Phillips and recorded their in-flight demo, \"The Emergency Exit EP\" later that year. The band took flight and began performing live in early 2014, adding Daniel Woodward and Ellen Pietrafeso to the flight crew soon after. In the year that followed, the band continued to perform regularly for passengers at terminals across Las Vegas, as well as adding service to San Diego, California. In the spring of 2015, the band recorded their first studio album, “Cleared for Takeoff”, set for arrival on September 4th, 2015. Water Landing\'s music, for lack of a better term, is probably best described as indie rock, infused with elements of punk and folk. Some of the band\'s diverse influences include: Violent Femmes, The Minutemen/Mike Watt, Pixies, The Aquabats, Primus, Flaming Lips, R.E.M., and many more. The Water Landing crew has been trained to bring fun, excitement, and disaster preparedness to a live musical setting. Our high-energy sets have created turbulence all across Vegas\' local music scene and beyond! Water Landing is Eric (vocals/guitar), Ron (drums/vocals), Dan (bass), Ellen (violin/synth), and Jules (vocals/kazoo/laundry).
