Wildcat

Music – Austin

The essence of Wildcat is all in the name. It's a blend of southern roots rock, country-fried punk, classic rock, blue collar blues, amped-party rock, folk, and a mass of other sounds. Their live shows truly capture the energy behind the music of Wildcat. They have been called "electrifying", "simply amazing", "On the money Rock n Roll", and "plain and simple--fun as hell to watch". Taking inspiration from such artists as Wilco, Arcade Fire, The Avett Brothers, Uncle Tupelo, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Dead Weather, Radiohead, and several others, Wildcat forges these styles into their own blend of Rock with a southern drive. Wildcat writes songs about Love, Contradiction, Heartbreak, Confusion, Murder, Whiskey, and Wannabe Ghetto Barbies to name a few things. The particular mix of the differences in the writing styles of Austin Alexander and Jordan Bay make for interesting and dynamic material. Your ears will thank you. Wildcat was formed by Austin Alexander and Jordan Bay in 2009. Juan Arango joined on as the bassist/guitarist in early 2010. Alexander and Bay are the writers/lead singers for Wildcat. Alexander, Bay, and Arango make up the core of Wildcat. Wildcat currently is Austin Alexander, Jordan Bay, Juan Arango, Colin Baylor, and Cesar Osorio II. Each member plays a variety of instruments including drums, bass, guitars, piano, keyboards, and Mandolin. They can frequently be seen playing in Austin, and are usually joined by a brand ambassador from Fireball Whisky that gives out free whiskey shots at their shows.
