Photography – New Orleans

I began photographing the unique energy of this city at the early age of eight and bought my first enlarger for $5, before the age of nine. In later years but well before digital photography existed, I worked as a freelance photographer and custom photo printer. I find that I often miss the distinct odor of working with photo chemicals and utilizing hand light manipulation techniques, but love the flexibility offered by the digital format. I've also been an "urban explorer" since before digital photography as well and will always love the beauty in neglected structures. I enjoy finding images within images, the beauty in the obvious and not so obvious, and all of that mixed together sometimes with a few contrasts and or contraries thrown in as well. All of my images are as the camera captured them, with some minimal processing and filtering applied, with exception for the "ArtisANAL STATIONery" macro photo of my eye, which had a lot of processing and filtering applied. It was the cover for a stationery that was a pain in the anal to make by hand and will never be made by me, in mAss quantities, unless I'm in hell.
