Todd Morgan & the Emblems

Music – Sacramento

Todd has created his songs and the band's sound with influences from every faction and era of American Popular music. From Jazz, Blues, Swing, Classic Rock n Roll, Soul, Funk & even Country, to present-day Pop and Rock, they’ve created a familiar, yet fresh and unique sound. With their strong melodies, well-crafted lyrics and infectious rhythm, each song, whether it be an original or an old favorite, is performed with tuneful vocals, intensity, style and nuance. There is also a strong showmanship element to these performances, with Todd’s dancing and visual style. While backed by the talented band of musicians that make up, The Emblems, Todd Morgan, handles the lead vocals, piano, and guitar, depending on the song’s needs. For the past 2 and a half years, The Emblems have consisted of: Patrick Owen on lead guitar, Jessica Luna on bass and sometimes backup vocals and Cameron Womack on Drums. Todd Morgan & the Emblems, in one form or another, has been touring the West Coast playing outdoor festivals, night clubs, private events and wineries since 2007 to the delight of music lovers of all ages. With three albums to his credit, Todd Morgan has written, arranged, produced, and has played many of the instruments on the bands’ original recordings. Their first, simply titled Todd Morgan & the Emblems, released in 2009 had a decidedly old-fashioned Rock ‘n Roll approach. June of 2012 saw the release of their 2nd full length album, Reality, which featuring a more updated Pop/Rock sound. Summer of 2015 saw the local or “soft” release of a third album, Sweet Pretender, further updating and improving on the sound of Reality, yet at the same time, taking a more old school approach as well. Several videos of the band are viewable on the YouTube. Of note, a solo of Todd Morgan at Studio B in Nashville in 2010 performing the Elvis Presley song Big Hunk O’ Love, song #7 from the Reality LP, the band’s cover version of Memphis Minnie’s “Crazy Cryin’ Blues and a promotional video with footage from the Sweet Pretender CD Release Concert in 2015.
