Visual Art – Nashville

CHARLTON ARTIST PROFILE I am a self-taught painter who believes color changes the mind, heart, and soul. We just have to allow ourselves to be moved. My idea of art aims to allow people to do just that. My artwork uses nostalgia and bright color work to create memories of a person, place, or time. I strive to remind people of a feeling that can be recalled but cannot be reproduced. My art uses contrast between dark and light to create a neon-rustic sensibility. I paint with acrylic on wood, using the texture to create a feeling of something lost, found, or adored.. I use layers upon layers of thin paint to create and bring out an image of emotion and remembrance. Any emotions my work evokes for their viewers are the correct ones.
