Laura Gaffke

My work embodies a colorful medley of paint and collage. Every painting is infused with meaning and intended to lift your spirit and bathe you in everything positive. I believe in celebrating the good things in life and want to put something hopeful and uplifting into the world. This often means looking beyond the surface layers and allowing time to build relationships with each other and our surroundings. When we do this we learn to see, reflect and question, making life rich with appreciation, compassion and LOVE. I maintain a dedicated, studio practice in Westerly, RI where I am an active member of The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly. I also teach, share my work regularly in local galleries, contribute to a blog and nurture an ongoing collaborative art practice with a fellow artist, all of which reinforce how connections deeply affect my creative work and life.
