Visual Art – Toronto

At a very young age Michael simultaneously picked up a paintbrush and a hockey stick. Both hockey and painting have given him outlets to express himself as well as given him the opportunity to travel around the world. Throughout Michael’s life the worlds of art and sports have continued to collide. Pursuing an education in art on a hockey scholarship has taken him to many different cities. Michael completed his BFA studio practice in Graphic Design at Oswego State University. His passion drives him not only to the net when he was on the ice but also to spend sleepless nights in front of a blank canvas until it has been filled with energy, emotion and movement. Michael travels through his life documenting and experiencing. His first solo exhibition took place in Macon Georgia where he was pursuing a semi-professional hockey career. Michael’s art has always been an expression of his emotional energy and hockey, an expression of his physical energy. Each city that hockey took Michael to from all over southern Ontario to Camrose Alberta, Alaska, Boston Massachusetts to the southern states all the way to Latvia and Serbia. Michael has been letting his brush tell the story his eyes have seen.
