Visual Art – Miami
As a native South Floridian, Yadanis Barrientos finds inspiration in the beauty that surrounds her in the tropical oasis that is Miami. Early on in life, Yadanis showed great talent with a pencil. Duplicating images of popular cartoon characters with the precision and skill of someone well beyond her years and training. Self taught in sketching and painting, her fascination with art evolved into drawing wall murals, helping friends decorate their spaces and even creating unique pieces of art for display in their homes. Eventually her need to express her creativity with more frequency led to her to canvas. Not married to a specific style or medium, the final result can be abstract, defined, linear or floral vibrant or monochromatic…the possibilities are endless. The work is purely dictated by emotion and some times by direct commission… As a mother of three active children, the only negative aspect of drawing for her is not having enough time to pour her soul into her craft.
