Photography – Miami

Raluca was born in a small town in Romania. She grew up being surrounded by the beauty of the Black Sea and Danube. She has traveled to numerous countries as a little girl in Europe, along with her mother and school as she participated in math competitions. Being exposed to many cultures at a young age, she developed an eye for creativity and beauty. Not long after, her parents purchased a digital Sony camera that Raluca wanted to use in order to capture every moment of the places that she visited during her travels. Capturing people in their elements and inspiring landscapes became mind-altering moments that had to be repeated quickly and frequently. At the age of fourteen, Raluca and her family moved to Miami, Florida. Shortly after, Raluca attended High School and was introduced to a brand new blend of cultures Miami had to offer. At the age of sixteen, Raluca was introduced to the Art of Dance where she obtained a certification as a DanceLab Dance instructor. She has since taught a variety of dance classes at several locations around Miami such as Gold’s Gym, LA Fitness, Lady of America, and The Arts Academy of Hollywood. Raluca united with a group of other dance instructors and formed a dance group. In order to perform community service hours, Raluca created a non-profit organization named Character in Motion with the help of a former dancer. The organization was an after-school program where she taught troubled girls how to dance in order to perform physical activity. Prompting her to document the progress of the girls and capture her dance shows, she invested in a Olympus Camera. Taking pictures in motion of the colorful costumes and portraits of the girls was fascinating to her. After graduating High School, Raluca attended Nova Southeastern University where she earned a bachelors degree in Biology that landed her a research job in Microbiology as a requirement for The College of Optometry. Pressed by time, Raluca had to give up dancing. Since then, she has turned to her iPhone camera and started taking pictures during her free time in the midst of her grueling schedule. She took pictures of anything that captured her eyes, later posting it on the social media site, Instagram. People all over the world started noticing Raluca’s photos and leaving positive comments on her creativity. In early 2014, Raluca was introduced to one of Miami’s well-known art events, Art Basel. All the beautiful art pieces and showcases inspired her. Miami and its colors have given her the push to revive her childhood passion for photography. Shortly after she picked up her first professional camera, she started following famous photographers, reading and watching videos of different techniques, as well as how to properly use her camera. With great motivation and hunger for photography, Raluca is back on her journey of traveling the world and bringing her fans along by continuing to capture unique moments and sharing the vision through her lens.
