Performing Art – Seattle

Sam Ahmed is a choreographer and dancer who is passionate about using art as emotional communication. His movement is based in hip-hop and jazz-funk with contemporary influences. Sam’s work discusses themes of social equity, interpersonal connection, and how humans process different emotions internally and externally. He is particularly inspired by body language and social cues. Sam brings theatre elements of character work, authenticity, and raw energy to his movement, creating a unique approach that aims to make audiences feel deeply and connect on a personal level. Sam teaches at Westlake Dance Center and has performed with many groups across the Pacific Northwest including Cruz Control (Daniel Cruz), Varsity Dance Company (Isaac Tualaulelei), and Westsiders Company (Hannah Wintrode). Notable performances include the World Choreography Awards, Choreographer’s Carnival LA, World of Dance Seattle, and the Seattle Mariner’s halftime show.
