Alyssa Rose Keller has just graduated with a major in Art and a minor in Art History at a higher institution of learning. She loves when lightning storms play perfectly in sync with her music and 5-hour long conversations. When not painting, reading, writing, praying, listening, or watching, she’ s probably eating. She hopes to be a superhero someday. (Once those mutant abilities kick in, of course.)
I produce my multi-media artwork in order to fulfill my inner desire, or even “need” to create. I strive to continue broadening my worldview in order that my art may use what the earth has to offer as a means to reach for the infinite. Art is a transcendental experience that is destined to make its statement simply through its being. This idea is beautifully summed up in the words of Barnett Newman. “Shape [in art] is a living thing, a vehicle for abstract thought, a carrier of feelings before the terror of the unknowable.” My hope is that viewers have a similar experience when seeing my work.
RAW displays the talents of unknown artists, people whose work should be experienced on a much wider scope than it has been. Which, I would say, no longer makes them quite so underground. :)
