Visual Art – Washington, D.C.

Unlike many artists who discover their love of art at an early age, Alisha Taylor-Styles discovered her latent talent in visual art just three years ago. Starting her artistic career creating handmade polymer clay beads, namely the "Ceaira" bead, Alisha decided to expand her artistic ability by joining the Fine and Performing Arts program at Bowie State University. Through the Studio Art concentration, Alisha has been able to explore other art forms and incorporate her unique, colorful and textured bead designs within her paintings, drawings and sculptures. For the past two years, she has entered her artwork, including necklaces she made from her handcrafted "Ceaira" Beads in juried art shows where she has placed every time. Reaching incredible milestones as a new artist, Alisha has been featured on DoHarm Radio Station and her art has been published in Bowie State University's Flaming Torch Magazine. In addition, to being awarded "Most Creative in the Fine and Performing Art Department", she has earned two 1st place Mixed Media awards, a 1st place Sculpture award, 1st and 2nd place Ceramics awards, and a 2nd Place Printmaking award. Recently graduating in May 2015, Alisha currently works as the Creative Director for Zawadi, an African art boutique located in Washington DC, and has continued creating unique works of art and jewelry under her self-entitled company, Alisha T.
