Performing Art – Portland

Amelia Unsicker, a Portland native, is a dancer, choreographer, dance educator and certified Pilates instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in dance from the University of Oregon and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of California, Irvine. Amelia has presented her choreography at festivals and showcases throughout the West Coast. Amelia began her professional training at Pacific Festival Ballet; she later trained for several years at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre under the instruction of many renowned artists and educators. Amelia danced as a soloist for four seasons with Ballet Fantastique, touring throughout the Pacific NW. She also appeared as a guest artist with Portland Festival Ballet, under the direction of the late John Magnus. In 2013, Amelia joined the Agnieszka Laska Dancers, where she performed The Rite of Spring in Portland, Chicago, and throughout Poland. Amelia has also worked with respected choreographers such as Jennifer Camp, Hayley Glickfeld Bielman, Lisa Naugle, Gunta Liepina, Emily Schultz, and Carlyn Hudson. Currently, Amelia is a freelance dancer and choreographer, and teaches ballet, Pilates, contemporary, and movement exploration throughout the Portland Metro Area.
