Anatomology

Anatomology is a combination of intelligence and creativity-- the forces that consistently move the world forward. It is designed to show the depth of humanity that unites us all. The line was created during a difficult time in my life when my reality had been shattered. Stunned by a paralyzed heart and haunted by an obsessed mind, I found refuge in trying to find a way to get through it by focusing on the bodily sensations that plagued me. However, as many can attest, it is when we are stripped RAW and forced to find the courage to move forward, we develop our greatest strength and reconnect to our soul. The key elements of the line are The Heart, The Mind and The Spine Each piece has been hand sculpted in wax and cast in lead free safe pewter. We used pewter because many of the pieces are large and we wanted to keep the costs down from sterling silver. We want this line to be meaningful and accessible to the people who truly connect to it. Each piece is accompanied by artwork that depicts the lesson that was used to help pull me through my darkness. The final piece of the initial line was Time- Panacea for the Heart and the Mind. Today the line continues to evolve, but many of the themes are less heavy that the original. For example, the Choke piece simply reminds us not to focus on the pressure. The eternal love collar represents the lasting quality of our attachments and I am currently working on a rib cage cuff bracelet, that may be simply titled Ribs with no meaning at all. Life has become less heavy ? Anatomology is about the RAWness of humanity- the fact each of us has a heart that can race with joy and feel ripping pain, each of us faces tough life problems, that we must find the courage to pull through and we all have a mind that sees things just a little differently..... and this is what makes our connections..... beautiful.
