Photography – Chicago

Hello hello. My name is Andrew Koffke, and I am a landscape, nature, and architectural photographer from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. I now reside in Humboldt Park, Chicago, but most of my work has originated from Pennsylvania, where I grew up traveling through the rural landscapes and exploring the countryside. My focus tends to be on rustic landscapes and the natural world, as I find these subjects evoke the most emotion and can tell a powerful story. My adventurous personality and love for the arts started because of one man and his passion for nature and photography – my grandfather, Ken Steele. For as long as I can remember, I have watched him carry a Nikon around, capturing the lives of his grandchildren and the beautiful landscapes in his life. He has been an inspiration and teacher for 24 years, and I continue to learn from him every day. My passion lies in several forms of artistic expression including architecture, interior design, and of course photography. From my architectural studies in school to my engineering career, I am constantly inspired to incorporate buildings into my work. Whether strolling through city blocks capturing the urban neighborhood aesthetic or trekking out in the wilderness, I am always looking for unique geometric expression, interesting line patterns, and natural contrast. Over the past six years, I have been extremely fortunate to have traveled through a large portion of the US and overseas in Italy. These trips have allowed me to build my portfolio and let me explore several different landscapes and photographic techniques. I am an avid adventurer and natural light photographer that loves to have fun. Photography is much more than just a hobby; it is a way of life and an opportunity to capture the world through my personal lens. http://www.andrewkoffke.com
