Music – Austin
Timothy Gadban, otherwise known as Animal Abstrakt, is a producer, guitarist, rapper, and songwriter from Saint Paul, Minnesota, now living in Austin, Texas. Having been classically trained on guitar and Suzuki violin as a kid, and with his father being a gifted musician, Tim was immersed in music from the very beginning. Picking up electric guitar at age 12 led him to help start a thrash metal band by the name of Rivet with three other young, talented musicians. By age 17, they were playing in venues all over the Twin Cities and had won a city-wide battle of the bands at the infamous Minneapolis venue, First Avenue.
Tim’s eventual thirst for further vocal expression and musical experimentation compelled him to begin writing lyrics and composing songs he coins as ‘hip-hop fusion’. So began a journey of self-taught recording, producing, mixing, and rap. In January of 2012, he released his first solo-album under the name of Animal Abstrakt, titled "Listen", and his second in 2013, “Flesh, Blood & Rhythm”, which brings together a unique mix of original production, introspective rap, vocal variety, and magnetic guitar solos.
After attending collage at McNally Smith College of Music, Abstrakt has gone on to produce music for several professional dance choreographies, short films, and recorded/engineered vocals for an intimate list of other dedicated musicians. He currently front-mans his new band, Ryft in the System, and is working on new Animal Abstrakt releases for 2019 and 2020
