APT 50

Visual Art – Washington, D.C.

My name is Franklin Thompson. I\'m a 21 year old emerging artist in and from Washington, D.C. I create underneath the APT 50 alias. My work is influenced by Harley Davidson color codes, oldies cover art, and my family. In 2011 my father was diagnosed with Parkinson\'s disease. Since that moment the focal point of my work reflects the first symptom he possessed, hand tremors. I am a self-taught neo-expressionist, and create with a hustle more ambitious than most. I am obsessed with discovering new techniques and methods in the field of painting. My art would mean nothing without my interpersonal relationships. With every collection I create I try my best to translate to the viewers a fluid story which is told throughout the canvases. I love living and creating in the city of Washington D.C. because it offers such a melting pot to pull inspiration from. I know that DC will soon be home to great artists of all types, and I can’t wait to be recognized for my work in the years to come.
