Visual Art – Columbus

I have been making Art for over 25 years. As a child I loved Crayola Crayons, the 64 pack with the sharpener in the back. I thought it was the most amazing thing to own! I loved to draw and color. As I grew up I would doodle and sketch all sorts of pictures copying photographs from magazines. In 1989 I moved to Ohio with my husband and children. As a means of coping with the move, I began taking painting lessons from a local Artist. I started painting with Acrylics in a realistic fashion, which helped me learn the fundamentals of painting. I also studied intensely on my own while taking advantage of our local college Art department\'s life drawing classes. As I continued to study, I began to utilize printing techniques using leaves, Styrofoam blocks, and found materials to create interesting visual additions to my work. Currently I work in an Abstract Expressionist style utilizing collage materials such as handmade papers, recycled artwork, packing materials, and other found items. My goal as an Artist is to express my vision of the world, nature and dreams as I see and understand them. My hope is that my work will evoke not only a visual connection but an emotional connection with the viewer.
