Fashion – Omaha
I grew up in a small town in SW Iowa and my entire life I\'ve dreamed about starting my own clothing line under the big city lights! As a teenager I use to cut up my clothes in attempts to recreate new looks. My mother absolutely hated this, but for me it was a way to be creative and innovative. I\'ve never had any formal training when it comes to sewing unless you count the one sewing class I took in my 7th grade home ec class. But it wasn\'t until after college and the passing of my grandmother, Muryl Jean, that I decided to buy my first sewing machine in 2012. I spent that summer teaching myself the basics and after a year I launched my own clothing line, AV Clothing Designs. I got involved with Raw last year and have had 4 shows thus far. I’m currently working on my Muryl Jean Collection that is named after my grandmother and incorporates that old Hollywood/glamour look. Someday I would love to see my designs on a red carpet!!
