Ayana

Ayana has built up a portfolio of portrait drawings that call attention to a trend she noticed of an overwhelming amount of portrait art depicting generic young white women. In response she decided to do--not that. By focusing on people that have influenced or inspired her that are specifically men and POC, she began calling attention to the trend first on social media, and now around multiple cities in the US. Also using the body of work to call attention to the irony that there is significantly more representation of male artists, despite the subject matter of portraits being majority women.
