Visual Art – Toronto

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. I\'ve been painting professionally for 6 years while working full time as a upscale cook and have been actively showing in Toronto since 2010. I also currently am active in clothing design and print production. Attended OCAD 08-10, where I learned many things about painting, mediums, technique, but most of all, I learned about myself. My work is my out pouring of the world around me. Some of it is contextual, others not so much... Ultimately i have a love for both abstract expression and detailed illustration. This is apparent in most of my illustrative work with the juxtaposition of complex layering, bold color pallets and blending mixed with fine line work and detailing. Most of my illustrations are conceptual. They deal with global warming, judgement, acceptance, vulnerability, and compulsion. Whereas recently I\'ve been producing large and small scale expressionist abstract with acrylics. Focusing more on emotional and physical detachment. Separating the mind from \"frameworks\" or \"a plan\" and aggressively letting my mind and body work together without thinking. \"Don\'t think, DO!\" Energy and a compelling need to get my hands dirty and ruin some clothes. I have had some success in the art business and have completed a collection of commissioned work, participated in multiple gallery showings and community events, as well as mural work and tattoo and logo design. It is my pleasure to share my mind and its strangeness.
