BodiGrub

Visual Art – San Francisco

BodiGrub art series showcases the human body as an artistic platform where bodies are presented to be “consumed” as food for thought, to intrigue and inspire. Using photography and short films as a medium and incorporating food and objects, Bodigrub seeks to change the perspective of the human body in the public eye and tear down social stigmas associated with the human body in respects to age, gender, race or sexual orientation. “Feast your eyes, challenge your mind.” We live in a consumer society. We consume what we hunt and what is fed to us though social media, the news and our peers. What we consume fuels the way our minds perceive ourselves and others. What we consume can either be healthy or harmful to us, creating thoughts and ideas that either sit with us like a fresh glass of orange juice or like a week-old bean burrito. BodiGrub seeks to deconstruct what we consume and create something new and challenge thoughts, ideas, social stigmas and stereotypes associated with the human body in respects to age, gender, race and sexual orientation. Bodigrub isn’t meant to go down smooth, it’s meant to challenge, inspire and provoke thought. Like a shot of wheatgrass to the system it’s good for you, but not comforting to consume.
