BROKEN LIMITS \ BY CARMEN was founded by CARMEN Nkounkou. She a graduate from the University of Bridgeport where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Retail. In November 2013 she started creating jewelry to help fund her return to school. Motivated by her creative endeavor - she continues to make stunning wearable art.
The Jewelry Artist handcrafts jewelry using distinctive beads to create stylish pieces. Her work demonstrates modern creations with remnants of African roots. Raised in New York City, but a native of Congo, her culture continues to play a significant role during the creative process.
Carmen provides a variety of jewelry designs. With the exception of several statement pieces, her main goal is to create affordable staple pieces so that her customers will wear her jewelry everyday. She focuses on color, shape, contrast, and texture.
