Cat Makes Things

I was born in London and graduated from The London of Fashion in 2007 with a BA Honour in Fashion Promotion. My Mother is a Costume Maker in the Film Industry so I grew up surrounded by trinkets, textiles, and oodles of creativity. I am also really passionate about traveling and take every opportunity to explore new countries and cultures for new inspiration. I moved to California in 2010 when I started Cat Makes Things. I now live in Tahoe with my Husband and Australian Shepherd, Master Obie- Wan Keeney. Cat Makes Things is a collection of hand- made jewelry inspired by nature, eco- awareness and \"oh thats interesting what you\'ve done with these\" My current collection are Crystal Bullet Necklaces. The concept is the marriage between two opposites and juxtaposition. The masculinity of guns and shooting, and the femininity of natural crystals and gemstones. The dark brotherhood verses the light and energy held in crystals. I have also become fascinated at the meanings and healing properties of all the crystals I use and I like to give my buyers a small educational insight to what they are buying. I have started collection antique skeleton keys and turning them into necklaces too. I like to use materials that anyone can recognize and relate to. Anything that floats my boats really...
