Music – Washington, D.C.

Cecily is a young vocalist and songwriter from Washington, D.C., making her mark on the music world. Cecily’s genre is described as Acoustic Pop Soul because as she says, “It’s Acoustic because I like to work with real musicians and real instrumentation. It’s Pop because it has crossover appeal, and it’s Soul because it gives you that warm, soulful feeling, like back in the day.” Cecily has been influenced by powerful vocalists and songwriters, including Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, and Adele. Over a decade of study and performance provides a secure foundation for this seasoned soprano, who now performs with confidence and ease; and as one blogger at a recent performance said, “Cecily’s vocal range and stage presence were breathtaking and certainly left the audience wanting more.” Cecily is a 2012 graduate of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She has also studied at the Peabody Institute and Berklee College of Music. She launched her professional career in the Fall of 2012, with the release of her first single, “Too Much,” available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby. She is currently working on completing her first EP, working with Grammy award winning producer and arranger Benjamin Wright, famed songwriter and singer, Vaneese Thomas, and DC rap legend, Tabi Bonney. She is also performing regularly in Washington, D.C., New York City, and other cities on the East Coast. “A brilliant, beautiful, and talented young lady, look out!” - Grammy award winning recording artist Patti Austin
