Photography – Philadelphia

I have always had a passion for exploring. As an only child, I entertained myself with imaginary trips, wild adventures, and monsters in my back yard. We moved often during my childhood and each time provided me another opportunity for exploration. My travels started while I was still a baby with a trip to Hawaii where part of my family still resides. When I go back it feels like home, even after years have passed. My mom grew up on the island of Oahu. She is an artist and has been all her life. I grew up with her painting in the basement, I followed her to craft shows at ungodly hours, and I was always encouraged to create. At 15 I picked up a camera and immediately developed a love for photography. I attended Tyler School of Art majoring in photography, while adventuring through Philadelphia. I studied abroad in Rome, touring my way through Europe. Since then I have been making my own adventures. I am always looking for a new place to explore even in the familiar. I recently explored the area of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and held a show at the Historical Society of Phoenixville that featured open spaces created by parks, abandonment, and farmland. While I am mainly a photographer, I was taught to be an artist and a creator. I make encaustics, mixed media, and alternative photographic prints that are all influenced by my travels and explorations.
