Music – Detroit

CyePie is a tastemaker and creative who proudly represents her hometown, Detroit, Michigan. She studied music theory, classical choral music, and theatre for the majority of her childhood through high school. While attending MSU, she studied theatre, oral interpretation, behavioral studies. With this new knowledge came an interest to perform her own writings to the public. She started performing at Open mics in Lansing and Detroit. After moving back From college and a few years of learning Detroit's artist scene, She finally performed her first feature set at a popular open Mic night. Shortly after, she led and managed her first band Atoms and Ease who quickly gained popularity for their unapologetic funkiness, energy, and sounds. After only one year of uniting they played many local music festivals through 2014. Known for her outlandish hair colors, CyePie saw a void in the artist community for creative hair and color techniques and founded her natural hair studio, Hair Hut Detroit. This new business venture led to CyePie collaborating with local photographers and accessory lines to creatively direct a host of projects highlighting services offered by HairHut Detroit. CyePie began to host artist showcases and produce her own music. Seeing the new wave of artists Fed her interest in interviewing and podcasts. She started her own podcast called The Pretty Dope Show in early 2016. She released her debut single, SameThing, in August 2016.
