Danyele Thomas-Misty Jane

I transplanted to California from Philadelphia, PA seven years ago to be closer to family and friends. I found my niche in Theatrical Wardrobe as a Dresser and Costumer. Six months ago, while working on a show, I literally fell into crocheting and beading wire after admiring an orange, jade, pendant worn by the Assistant Wardrobe Designer.I asked her how it was made and she told me that it was crocheted beading wire. A few days later I came across a beading store. I asked about beading wire. Still, I had no clue how to "crochet", or knowledge about the different gauges of wire; but I thought, "Why not give it a try". Later that day, after what I refer to now as "zen-crocheting", I made my first pair of earrings. When my husband came home I eagerly showed him the earrings. He found them beautiful and was surprised I'd made them. Since then I've designed a line of 15 earrings and am currently working on necklaces and bracelets. I can sit and "zen-crochet" for hours; I pour love and detailed attention into every creation produced. More than anything, the biggest reward for me is to see people wearing Misty Jane.
