Visual Art – Washington, D.C.
I am a self taught Artist Born and raised in Uptown Washington, D.C. On June 11th 1991. So I'm 25 years wise. I didn't start taking art seriously until a few years ago. As a child I've always been artistic but never knew that it could lead to where I am now. I never consider my abilities as an artist to be a real talent of mine because it came so natural to me. I even attend school for art at Kentucky State University. But soon I would become discouraged because of having to do art in a way that I felt was right. My argument was art is my own self expression so having someone criticize my work saying that I'm doing it wrong was the last straw. So for a few year I completely left art alone until the age of 24. During this time in my life I was really going through rough times and was just going through the motions of life without truly LIVING it. I continuously thought about my future and my purpose in life and I had no answer until one day a friend of mine introduced me to painting. I used pairing as a therapy to get through everything I was going through. Ever since then I have not put down my paint brushes and I honestly don't ever think I will. Art has open my mind and soul to whole new ideas and perspectives. It has also allowed me to meet a lot of amazing people and be able to express my complexed thoughts. So I just hope that through my art I can give positive energy for everyone who views it.
