DJ Phone Home aka Everett Torpey is a 23-year-old Nashville based musician and entertainment industry professional. He currently works as an assistant engineer and studio musician for The Stu Audio, a local, independent studio ran by his long time friend, Ryan Jones, an audio engineer and Belmont Alumnus. Everett grew up in Massachusetts where he was classically trained as an upright bassist and tenor vocalist. He has performed in chamber, symphony orchestras, large mixed voice, chamber and acappella choirs, as well as fronting and playing bass for the alt/indie band Breaking and Entering. After high school, Everett went on to attend the Frost School of Music at The University of Miami (Class of 2014) where he studied music business and entertainment industry. It is here where Everett was first exposed to the diverse EDM scene of Miami and began to hone his skills as a DJ and pop/electronic producer. While attending the University of Miami, Everett worked at the campus radio station WVUM 90.5 FM as the underwriting director and promotions coordinator. He also formed the pop/electronic duo The Bandana Brothers with his roommate and now LA based producer, Daniel Simmons.
