Photography – Washington, D.C.

Daniel Nathan is a visual artist who owns and operates a boutique studio in the Shaw District of Washington, DC. Born in Riverside, California, Daniel unwittingly began to cultivate his photographic eye from an early age in his attempt to reconcile growing up as a minority in a strikingly beautiful environment. Similarly, the origins of Daniel's gift for navigating the emotions of his subjects and infusing them into his work date back to mechanisms developed during his childhood as a means to circumnavigate the inherent obstacles of an unpredictably turbulent household. Fusing Daniel's lifelong love of people and his natural adeptness for nearly all things technology, the connection between him and camera came to fruition by way of a study abroad trip to Cape Town, South Africa during his tenure at the George Washington School of Law. Inspired by the beauty surrounding him and emboldened by the semi professional camera held at his side, Cape Town served as a backdrop in a turning point in Daniel's life; the first time he fell in love with photography. Daniel considers himself an ever-evolving student of his craft and strives to capture images that in themselves serve as an inaudible soliloquy to this fascinating narrative we call life.
