Photography – San Francisco

I've practiced a wide variety of photographic genres including portraits, landscape and nature, journalism, product, and others. Now focusing on portrait and corporate headshot photography I also offer product and office wall art as part of a comprehensive business photography service. I started shooting as a kid. My sister loaned me the money to buy my first camera - a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens. I think it was $90, which was a lot of money for a pre-teen in the 1970s. Having a brother who lived near Yosemite I found myself in the beautiful park as much as I could. I began to dabble in portrait photography, primarily children and families before diving in full-time. After 5-6 years I moved back into landscape and nature photography. With the advent of the World Wide Web and digital photography I dove into journalism, primarily sports, where I founded and ran several sports-focused publications. It was an exciting time as it gave me the opportunity to photograph many high-profile college and high school events. After selling those publications I went back to my roots in landscape and nature photography, which I still do today. However, I'm excited to bring all of those skills and experience into one business-focused service. At Don Hoekwater Photography we can provide your company with headshots for your website and other media, along with product photography, and beautiful art for your office walls. We use Canon equipment along with editing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
