Fashion – Austin

Born and raised in the historical city of Bratislava, Slovakia, I learned an early appreciation of the arts under the guidance of my mother, a passionate historian. I grew up in a bohemian social environment; our home was always filled with various artists such as painters, actors, poets, screen writers, and singers. As a girl I spent a lot of time at my mother’s work in the Bratislava Castle wandering around the exhibits after hours, fantasizing and developing my artistic imagination. Already as child, I spent hours drawing beautiful women in fashionable clothes and accessories. Without even knowing, I was already designing back then! Because of my fascination with foreign cultures, I studied Chinese, Japanese, and Tibetan studies in Vienna, Austria for a year and then five additional years in Goettingen, Germany. Although enchanted by their complexity, ultimately, I was drawn more to the arts and costumes than to their politics and linguistic side. In my heart I knew that I belonged to the world of fashion and arts. For a hobby, I started experimenting with painting on silk and bead embroidery, fabric manipulation, and also resumed painting on canvas with acrylic media. Later I met my husband, who was from Texas, with whom I have two beautiful, little children. In Dallas, Texas, I changed my career following my passion, and obtained a double major in Fashion Design and Pattern Design. My admiration to color, beads, gemstones, and the narrative full of fantasy and dreamscapes lead me to non-traditional jewelry design.
