Indiana Blue

Visual Art – San Francisco

Greetings everyone. My name Indiana. I am an Oakland based artist who has been weaving dream catchers since I was 7 years old. The pattern and meaning always fascinated me, and offered a calming and inspirational place for my mind. I began with pre sold dreamcatcher kits, including the first 3-D double pattern when I was 9. From there, my dad and I would build giant 2-D ones in trees ( the largest being 25 ft. in diameter around a mother Oak tree, high up enough to walk under). Then I remembered the design I was shown when I was 9, and decided to do them big. Since then I have been inspired, infused and wonderfully brain twisted as to what is really possibly within my mind application of this artistic form. This has been the project that my brain simply hasn\'t let me let go of. In the last few years I have moved away from the traditional sense of what a dream catcher is, adding different shapes, mediums, and patters within patterns. I have much respect for it\'s origins, meaning and purpose. I feel that my work is an augmentation of this, as well as representations of different meanings. Within my sculptures, I see the world, the matrix of life, portals, infinity, and our inner connectedness with all life and the universe in a cyclical nature. \"Our intentions ripple outward, our dreams ripple in\" -me.
