Danny Kelley

Visual Art – Santa Monica

"To put it simply, I believe that all of my work be it in a physical manifest or an effort in film or prose, are exercises in the narrative form. I would call myself a storyteller at heart." A native of the central coast of California, Daniel Kelley’s work transcends categorization and extends over a broad range of media from sculpture and cinema to painting and prose. At the college level, Daniel covered a broad and seemingly unrelated range of major studies including; functions & mathematics, biology, religious studies and the arts before finally settling on a major in the Graphic Arts with double minors in Geology and Art History. "I have always been drawn in by the process, to me the journey, what happens between beginning and conclusion, is the wealth of an experience." Before moving to New York City to pursue a life outside the confines of an office environment, he worked as a head designer for a leading architecture firm in San Francisco. His work has been exhibited nationwide and his film; THE NIGHTINGALE was runner-up for Slamdance Film Festival’s 2006 Best short film. He currently works and resides in Los Angeles.
