Photography – Chicago

I started dabbling in Light-Painting in-between various mediums of photography, both professionally and personally, since 2010. As of recent, I have narrowed down my focus to Light-Painting because of the unpredictable challenges it presents in understanding spatial awareness which forces a different kind of creativity. There are so many insanely talented people out there- media websites fill our feed with breathtaking images in an instant. At the same time I feel it's harder and harder to find work that makes you wonder, or question how the shot was done- We have gotten so good at using our DSLRs and editing software, that it's hard to find photography mysterious anymore. We just assume some form of Photoshop and move on to the next awe-inspiring image. Light-Painting is a little-explored, decades-old art form that for me, still feels just as mysterious as the first time I accidentally painted with light almost seven years ago.
