Ed Alba

Ed Alba, is a self taught artist living in Houston Texas, born in Mexico City in 1970. Ed Alba works across broad range of disciplines including bold abstract painting, photography and mosaic. Growing up in Mexico the culture and traditions surrounded and marked his path through art, a magical and expression way. It was until 2010 when he decided to share his art with the world, since he had done it for more than 15 years for his family and closest friends as gifts. Now living in Houston, and after 3 years he describes his experience in art like a magical and unexpected journey, he would never thought that what he loves doing had become not just a hobby or a peace of mind but to a part time job full of success. Is next goal is making his passion for art a full time job. Ed Alba works are held in private collections in Mexico and throughout the US. In the last 2 years the artist has sold over 120 original paintings. On 2013, Ed Alba received his first award in a juried competition. His piece called, “Somewhere in time”, got selected by Arthur Turner as the 2nd place best art piece of the collective Art Show, “Found Objects II” at Canal Gallery. His last collection done in December of 2013, that includes 18 art works has been bought by “The Gables”, company dedicated to built and lease apartment complexes all over the US.
