Music – New York - NYC

I\'m a Midwestern raised performer currently based in Brooklyn, NY. I play the acoustic guitar, ukulele, flute and piccolo and write with a pop/folk flare singing playfully honest heartfelt lyrics. My music has earned me radio air time in metro New York, the United Kingdom, and Toronto. In 2011 I won the grand prize in Recording Artist’s Development Inc.’s singer/songwriter contest won American Musician of the Year in the 2012 in the Radio Nation Music Awards out of Toronto, Canada. I’ve performed to full houses at venues such as The Chicago State Theater, The Talking Stick (Venice, California), The Cutting Room (NY, NY), and even at The White House in Washington, D.C. I’ve done a lot of work with promoting self-confidence and social awareness with young women in the US and have lead workshops and performed original spoken word and music with Girl Be Heard, The United Nations, and Girl Up about local and global issues. Sometimes these messages are reflected in my music reflecting on current events such as a post 9/11 society, domestic violence, body image, and sex trafficking. I\'m currently planning my first studio album to be out by 2014.
