Photography – San Francisco

Was taught the basics by San Francisco Bay Area photographer, Gale Perry. Images typically try to dramatize a tendency, an emotion, a (sometimes momentary) connection with the world, or a contradiction or incongruity. Various techniques used include exaggeration of either contrasting or sympathetic elements, drawing upon a literary sense (even just a play on words), introducing a notion of movement, using two to depict the complexity of one, placing people in unlikely scenarios, placing people in relation to 'scapes' (especially San Francisco's), and sometimes conferring a mythological status on the subject. Humor, street photography, and the pleasure of capturing something just because it is photogenic, are certainly not excluded.
