Nadine Friedman, a writer and photographer, incorporates a ten year background in arts education and theatrical direction in her focus on compelling social issues. She has a thriving online presence, writing for Bakamba, Highbrow Magazine, Quarterlette, Nona Brooklyn and BrokeAss Stuart, Feastive and as reviewer with Random House’s Biographile. Nadine’s essays were featured in Philadelphia’s award-nominated multimedia series, Radio Ghosts. Her photography has been exhibited with Makers Lab Gallery (NY, NY), Projekt30 (NY, NY), Black Box Gallery (Portland, OR) and Two Moon Art House (Brooklyn, NY), she’s shot for diverse organizations such as Urban Art Beat, Bensonhurst Bean, The Hester, Boomerang Theatre, 1242 Pacific and COLORS, and is a Judge\'s Award recipient on Viewbug. Documentary photography and storytelling grew out of her work in collaborative theatre. As theatrical director and producer, Nadine merged passions for socially relevant work with creative multilateralism, serving as co-founder and Artistic Director of Off-Off company Stone Soup Theatre Arts (2003-2010); with the Philadelphia Fringe (2008, 2009); The UnConvention: An American Theatre Festival; member of The Dish, a forum uniting and promoting independent East Coast artists (2002). Her collaborations have been featured in Time.com, The Forward, Philly Metro, Time Out NY, and NYTheatre.com. She’s received awards from Planet Connections Festival, and has served as educator and speaker with acclaimed agencies such as The National Spitzer Forum, Publicolor and Harlem Children’s Zone, focusing on the intersection of art and awareness. worked extensively with progressive multimedia projects such as Berlin-based Dropping Knowledge.
